Private Worship (Prayer)
A thorough biblical study of prayer as taught by Jesus and the Apostles and some personal testimonies of the healing power of prayer in “The Secret Place.” I have found it helpful to pray through an actual service each morning! This book includes a prayer book modeled on the famous Book of Common Prayer, a landmark of the Protestant Reformation. This includes morning services for each day of the work week and for the weekend. There is also a single service of Evening Prayer.

Three New Books for the Christmas and New Years Seasons
I used my imagination to flesh out the possible details of the events of the Nativity. I call this form of novel, “Faith Fiction.” By that I mean a fictional story set against the true history as found in the Scriptures. I do this with a purpose–to demonstrate the theme: “To be in the presence of Jesus is to be healed.” Beginning with Mary, each person who comes into the presence of the Christ Child, experiences a deep healing, just the kind of change I have felt in His presence since I was a child. I have written this in a style intended to capture the imagination of children, teens, and adults. This is the Christmas story as you have never experienced it.
2021 will be a year of opportunity for the church. The winds of change will be blowing as the People of God seek to rebuild their fellowship with God (private and public worship) and their relationships with each other(discipleship and fellowship). The God-appointed manager of these changes is the local pastor. The Prophet Isaiah called for leaders to “Prepare the way of the Lord. Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” John the Baptist took these words as his text when he called the nation of Israel to prepare for the coming of Jesus. I use this ancient, but O so current, metaphor to describe in detail how the local pastor and his team can see “the Highway of the Lord” built in his/her town, the place where the glory of the Lord is revealed! There are many things we might do–what are the biblical things that we must do? Explore these options with this collection of articles, The Road–Building God’s Highway through Your Desert.
For Worship Leaders!
Music is the principle art of public worship. It is the only art required by the Bible of every believer. As such, music must be understood on a deep level of musical skill as well as with spiritual understanding. As a child I was fascinated by the phrase, “To the Chief Musician.” This seemed to me to be a life to be lived in the study of music; it was the call of God on my life. As a student, I interpreted this calling as one to be “master of all styles.” When my biblical study of worship began, I found this crucial verse: “Kenaniah the head Levite was in charge of the singing; that was his responsibility because he was skillful at it.” (1 Chron 15:22 NIV) Congregational worship demands musical skill from the leader and the team. Over the last 10 years I have addressed this need for advanced musical skill in worship and now I have compiled many of these articles into this collection. Worship leaders and team members must learn how to “Unlock the Power of Congregational Song.”
For All Worshipers!
The Biblical Study of Worship
This book is the flagship of my worship studies. It presents 10 years of concentrated Bible study and another 10 years of experience as a worship leader. The scope of the work extends far beyond the worship service to issues of private devotions, craftsmanship and creativity as worship, and spiritual warfare. It is often used as a college/university text but is written to all worshipers.
The Worship Team
For All Worship Team Training
This is a 12-week course of discipleship for the worship leader and for his/her team. The first half presents a theology of worship and the second half applies biblical principles to the ministry of the worship team. I do not deal with local culture but with universal principles found in Scripture.
God reveals who He is through covenant names found in the scriptural narrative. Worship, both private and public springs from the sterling character of God. You can explore some of these names to better understand who God is and how much He loves us.
The Book of Hebrews stands as the connector between Old Covenant worship and New Covenant worship. As such, it provides a rich study of just how powerful and wonderful it is to truly worship God in Spirit and in Truth.
Ministry through the Arts
Ministry through the arts is both a source of worship renewal and a result of it. This book tells the story of 40 years of experience as a Pastoral Artist leading the artists of some powerful churches. Through the arts, the message of the church is communicated through the efforts of the artists within the congregation. The time has come for the church to shine like a city on a hill!
